Why Adventure Playgrounds

Children need more space for active play and their urge to move unhamperedly. But they also need sheltered space, enabling them to move and grow as freely and safely as possible.
Parents need the assurance and reliance, that their children have a place where they are welcome and which provides them with this free space.
Kindergartens, schools, social institutions, e.g. for disabled persons, need opportunities to meet and become integrated.

Local communities need people, which enjoy living in their community and with their commitment fill the city district with life. These people need opportunities to become active: supporting the work of the adventure playgrounds and youth farms, e.g. as member of the board of the club management, in the organisation or administration, in the pedagogical work with the children and youth.
Pedagogical employees need a mandate for their work with children.

Together they are able create play havens in the city:
For children age 6 -14, but also for families and all kinds of groups.

They can be relied on for:
- more adventure, more free play,
- more nature experience, more encounters,
- more romping, more climbing, more building,
- more gardening, more ecological awareness,
- more freedom, more solidarity,
- more encounters with animals
- more life ...

They make city life worth much more!

Each playground is unique in its offers, size and design. They all have in common, that the offers are free of charge and open to all children. The 22 Stuttgart playgrounds are registered and independent associations, actively supported, organised and managed by committed volunteers.

The associations are supported by subsidies to the operating costs by the state capital Stuttgart and are under the guidance of full-time professional pedagogues.

All persons - actively or passively interested - are most welcome.
